Almost four decades ago, Alice Cooper woke up in a terrible state. Vomiting blood and generally emaciated, he knew that something was seriously wrong.

“Everything that could go wrong was shutting down inside of me,” the musician explained to New York Daily News. “I was drinking with Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix and trying to keep up with Keith Moon and they all died at 27.”

Cooper quickly realized that if he failed to stop drinking, he would die. It was happening to other world-famous rock stars that surrounded him; Keith Moon and Jimi Hendrix to name just two. On the edge of despair and having been diagnosed as a “classic alcoholic,” Cooper turned to a steadfast and faithful helper: the Lord God.

“My wife and I are both Christian,” the 70-year-old performer explained. “My father was a pastor, my grandfather was an evangelist. I grew up in the church, went as far away as I could from it — almost died — and then came back to the church.”

Cooper realized that his faith in Jesus did not have to come into conflict with his talents as a musician.

“There’s nothing in Christianity that says I can’t be a rock star,” he continued. “People have a very warped view of Christianity. They think it’s all very precise and we never do wrong and we’re praying all day and we’re right-wing. It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Cooper has certainly distinguished himself from many in his industry. He said he studies the Bible every day, has never been unfaithful and attends Church every Sunday without fail. Now, he is embarking on a slightly different career path: theatre. Cooper will star as King Herod in a live broadcast of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s classic production “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

“Wouldn’t you know that they would give me the part of the villain?” he told Rolling Stone of his new role. “When this opportunity came across, they said, ‘Hey, why don’t you be in Jesus Christ Superstar?’ And I said, ‘I’m either Judas or Herod, right?’ And they said, ‘Herod.’ I said, ‘OK, I knew that was coming.'”

But as a Christian himself, will it not be odd to play such a character?

“No, no, no,” he said. “In the back of my brain, there are times when I get really mad when I read the Passion Play on how Jesus was treated, and it really angers you. Then at the same time, you go, “Oh, wait a minute, I’m playing the part of one of the guys that does this.” I look at it purely as a piece of art, and it’s directly out of the Bible. I might have a harder time playing Judas than I would playing Herod. It would be hard to play the guy that stabs him in the back.”

TOPIC: SONGS OF VICTORIES

TEXT: “In that day, everyone in the land of Judah will sing this song: Our city is strong! We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation” (Isaiah 26:1 NLT).

When Israel crossed the red sea after being delivered from Egypt they began singing the songs of victory. They saw firsthand the amazing miracle of the Lord’s power to deliver; they watched as the red sea opens for them to pass through and later how the army of Pharaoh perished in the same(Exodus 15:1-5).

Most of us associate the word salvation with the peace in our hearts that comes from knowing the Lord. We also associate it with the fact that we are promised eternity in Heaven. With both of these in our lives, we are saved or have experienced salvation. While salvation includes both of these things, it is even more extensive. In Isaiah 26:1, it is literally the Hebrew word Yeshua which is Jesus. It means aid, deliverance, health, well-being, victory, and prosperity. We shouldn’t just think of these attributes as something that we will only enjoy someday. This form of salvation is available now because it is who Jesus is! He is in you, so you are surrounded with all the things the word salvation describes. However, the verse above says that He (salvation) will surround you like a wall that nothing can invade. We see in the verse above that when this revelation entered the hearts of everyone in Judah, they got so excited they turned it into a song!

Have faith and begin rejoicing that the salvation wall of Jesus Christ surrounds you. This wall is complete deliverance, it prevents every form of evil from invading your life and it also ensures that you prosper in all you lay your hands on to do. So start singing the Lord’s song of victories and testimonies

Begin today by thanking God in anticipation of all that you want Him to do for you.

TOPIC: FAITHFULNESS FOR BLESSEDNESS

TEXT: A faithful man shall abound with blessings… (Proverbs 28:20).

Faithfulness and blessedness work hand in glove. Faithfulness means to be “steadfast in affection and allegiance. It also means to be “firm in adherence of promises or in observance of duty”. So the natural consequence of been loyal and conscientious is the abounding blessing.
The key word in this verse in Proverbs is the word abound. To abound in something means you go beyond the normal limits. Of course, this verse didn’t place any restrictions as to what part of our lives this abundance applies. We normally associate abundance with material things, and I definitely think that is a part of it. However, when you are faithful, abundance will apply to much more than that. For example, if you are faithful on your job, you may get a raise or promotion. Beyond that, you will gain favor and a good status with your boss. You also get a very good feeling inside when you have worked hard and done what is honorable. Faithfulness in anything we do will promote us into abundance. The same faithfulness toward God and spiritual things will promote you spiritually. You will become mature as a Christian and live with the confidence that you have pleased the Lord. Faithfulness is never a dead-end road. It will always promote you, so be confident that if you are being faithful, you will abound with many blessings from the Lord! Your reward of faithfulness is inevitable! Expect those rewards to manifest in your life today.

TOPIC: PRESS INTO YOUR DESTINY OF GREATNESS

TEXT: Text: "Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side" (Psalms 71:21).

God has specially designed a place for each of His children to stand in a place of honor and greatness.

Yes, greatness and honor are earned, however God will also cause it to rest upon your life. God is the author of greatness, and He will see to it that you will receive due honor for your purity, lifestyle, and commitment to His will.

Greatness doesn’t mean you have to be famous; it means you receive promotion and honor for obeying God. Your platform of greatness may not be like anyone else’s. Stay with your own calling on your road of destiny, and greatness will find you. God will also comfort you along that road as you embrace the hard work that comes with it. Similar to a runner in a race, it takes diligence, practice, hard work, and endurance when no one is noticing you. The greatness of winning the race is only a moment

compared to the private work and lifestyle it took to get there. However, the greatness that God gives will be the greatest reward you can receive. Begin to press toward the greatness God has prepared for you and know that doors greatness will begin to open for you! Move toward your season of greatness today!

TOPIC: GO THROUGH!

One of the toughest times is when all we know about God seem not to be helping us get our desired results. That is when we learn about His silence.

Whenever God doesn't say a word (a) He is teaching us even in His stillness (b) He is allowing us to grow by forcing us to think, study and arrive at conclusions, while He stands by with a hushed smile and a watchful eyes. He is fathering us!

Faith comes by hearing, patience comes by silence! Patience is what God gives you when bad things remain unchanged and expectations are not met. It's God sedative for your troubled heart. It's the balm He rubs into your aching muscles when you feel like you are been stretched to your breaking point. These are the times that the pain last so long that only God can give the patience required, and the sheer grace to sustain you. The truth is patience is nothing but strength harnessed, power focused and faith taking its time.

Listen, just keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and will finish this race we are in. Study how He did it. Because He never lost sight of where He was headed- that exhilarating finish in and with God- He could put up with anything along the way: The Cross, shame, the pain of rejection and betrayal. And now He is there, in the place of honour, right alongside God, seated on the throne of glory. When you find your faith slowing down and you feel like throwing in the towel, go over this story again. If God didn't leave Jesus in the grave, He won't leave you in the ditch. Go through!

TOPIC: ACHIEVING GREAT THINGS WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

TEXT: "Everyone who has will be given more..."(.Matthew 25:29 NIV)

Jesus told a parable of how people used what what they were given. In the story He said an employee received three talents and double them. Another received five talents, and he double them too. A third employee got one talent, but he buried it. Afraid of losing it, failed to take even a modest risk. 'The master was furious..."It's criminal to live cautiously like that...you knew I was after the best, why did you do less...? (Matthew 25:26TM). The Bible says...we walk by (the eye of) of faith, not by natural sight' (2 corithian 5:7 NKJV). Unless you are willing to take a carefully considered, well advised , and a well prayed over risk, you are not operating by faith. And..." without faith it is impossible to please Him(Hebrew 11:6)...Jesus ended His parable saying,.."Everyone who has will be given more...whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him' (Matthew 25:29). You goal should be be to maximize the investment on everything you do. This is how to get the return on life. It means putting all your eggs in God's basket (don't worry he won't drop them). To get more you must use what God has already given you. When you step out in faith God moves, and extra ordinary things happen. John Mason says 'Not what we have but what we use, not what we see but what we choose. These are the things that mar or bless human happiness.' When you limit what you will do, you limit what you can do. You can accomplish great things with what you have if you act with the consciousness that God is with you. Think: if you don't act now, what will it ultimately cost you?

Until you commit what you have you cannot achieve what you want. So use what you have.

TOPIC: THE POWER OF YOUR TONGUE

TEXT: "And the tongue is a fire…and setteth on fire the course of nature…"( James 3:6).

James 3 talks about the power of our tongue and how wrong words can have devastating effects. It probably focuses mostly on the negative side of the tongue, because we have a tendency to be more negative with our words than positive.

People tend to speak death far more than life. They will discuss sickness far more than the blessings of health. James 3:6 says our tongue is like a fire. Fire has the ability to spread rapidly and eventually affects things not even in its original vicinity. Our words can spread and affect things we didn’t even expect or perhaps may never even know about. James 3:6 also says, “and setteth on fire the course of nature.” It is saying that our words can literally set nature in motion. If our words can set nature in motion in the negative sense, then they can set it in motion in the positive sense, but those words need time to spread. James also likens our words to the rudder on a ship. Ships can’t be turned in one instant. It may take some time to reverse some things with our words, but nature will adjust to them eventually.

So begin to change things that have been formed by words today, whether they were yours or someone else’s, and allow nature to be set in motion for blessing!

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY

Personal growth is an essential part of success. Whatever has stopped growing has started dying. Here are three reasons why you need to keep up with your personal growth and development.

1) Talent without personal growth limits your potentials. You were born loaded with abilities. But it's your personal development of those potentials that will determine your success in your field . The fastest athletes in the world have the same number of legs we all have, what makes the difference is they develop their potentials through training, self disciple and by driving themselves beyond the limits. Start doing the same and your status as a star will be uncontestable

2) Personal growth prevents stagnation. Do you feel stuck career wise, relationally or even spiritually? You won't get unstuck by making external changes: looking for a different job, leaving your marriage partner and family, or moving into a new neighbourhood won't necessary bring about the success you desire. A person with an average mentality will always produce average result irrespective of where he is. The truth is nobody is keeping you down but yourself. The lid on your life is you. In order to accomplish more you have got to grow more. So if you are serious about getting out of the rut, stop blaming people for where you found yourself, stop looking for quick fixes, take a long hard look at yourself, and accept responsibility for what you see happening around you. Pray, then decide to do something about it.

3) Personal growth guarantees success! The story was told of the Tartar tribe in central Asia that they used a particular curse againt there enemies. They didn't call for their enemies to die of diseases. No, they said, 'May you stay in one place forever'. Wow! Not to work everyday to improve yourself at what you do is to suffer the fate. You will end up stuck in the same place, doing the same things. Dreaming the dreams but never getting anywhere. So start doing something to improve yourself to make your dream a reality. You might to read books, get trained, or even return to school. Just do it!

Cooperation is working together with another. It's when the whole is greater than its parts. And creating positive cooperation is having the right people, at the place, at the right time, focusing on the right goal.

I read that after world war II Chester Nimtz, Chief of US Naval operations wanted to keep alive public interest in naval aviation. As a result The Blue Angels Naval Flight Demonstrations Squadron was created and performed its first operation in one year. To this day the team has clear objectives. They select only qualified candidates who consistently operate at peak performance. After been carefully screened, pilot must receive sixteen votes from the existing members. If one votes no, the candidate is out of the race. No reason or explanation required, that's the level of trust and respect the members have for one another's judgment. As a blue Angel, your team becomes your family. And when a new member is enlisted, you entrust him with your life. Making by the squad isn't the most important thing either. You are responsible for playing your part, demonstrating your value and pursuing excellence on daily basis. Nothing short of total commitment is accepted. Being a team player can be challenging but it can also be most rewarding in term of results and fulfillment. Are you a soul trader or team player? Are you loyal and reliable? When the chips are down, can others rely on you to put their interest ahead of your own?

TOPIC: STAY CONNECTED

TEXT: “when they were alone He explained all things to His disciples” (Mark4:34)

A recent survey confirms what most of us suspects; stress increases as work encroaches more and more on our personal time. The electronic age hasn’t slowed the onslaught of mails, books and periodicals. We must read just to keep up. A PR consultant who fields four hundred emails, one hundred phone calls and twenty text messages every day says ‘I used to stop working when it got too late to make calls, but now I am never finished. Now she lives in a country behind the mountain because no phone signals there, and if they ever erect a mobile transmitter mast she says she will move!

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of city life, its critical to schedule one on one time with God, otherwise the supernatural things won’t happen. Mark says ‘when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples. There are things the Lord will reveal to you alone when you meditate with all your heart…and be still (Psalm4:4). It is said the ancient fathers used to commit themselves to disciplinary creed, silence, solitude and inner peace. Only after adequate amount of time they consider it fit to speak. Among many Christians today there are strange logic suggesting the spiritual resources are found in seeking new voices, attending more meetings, listening to incessant music, and gathering to exchange half thought out opinions. How often do we fall into the trap of believing that God is most pleased when we’ve maximized our information, our schedules, and our relationships? Disengagement means silence before God…a time of heavenly discussion during which we listen more than we speak. And silence demand solitude. The bottom line is, you need one on one time with the Lord.

Regardless of your busy schedule you can stay connected to the LORD by being conscious of His presence.

TOPIC: EXCAPING THE TRAP OF THE ENEMY

TEXT: "Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the
fowler… "(Psalm 91:3)

During Jesus’ ministry, the Pharisees and
religious leaders of the day tried many times to trap Him. Mark 14:1 (AMP) says they were using secrecy and deceit to trap him. Yet their repeated attempts to take Him out always failed.
Every attempt was somehow either thwarted or
exposed. Why? It’s because there was an
anointing upon Jesus, making them unable to
touch Him even when Jesus was plainly within
reach. He either knew their intentions or
supernaturally escaped their traps. It wasn’t until
Jesus gave Himself into their hands to be
crucified that they were able to lay hold of Him.
As heirs of Christ, we also need to know that the
Lord is delivering us from the traps of the
enemy. Instead of falling into the subtle traps of
deception, sins, false doctrine, and offenses, the
anointing causes us to see them in advance and
avoid them (see 1 John 2:26-27). The Lord can
show you when a trap has been set for you if you
are willing and open in your heart to the Holy
Spirit. We also need faith to believe that we will
supernaturally avoid and overcome the traps we
don’t see. Trust the Lord today that every trap of
the enemy laid in your path
will be exposed!

TEXT:"....seventy...or...eighty years ...pass quickly.."(Psalm 90:10 NCV)

Our soul aren't hungary for fame, comfort, wealth or power. Those things create as many problems as they solve. Our soul is hungary for meaning. We want our lives. The psalmist writes, our lifetime is seventy years or, if we are strong, eighty...'(Psalm 90:10NCV). Eighty years is just under 30,000 days, thinks about that in financial terms: 25,000,000 will buy a car or build you a little house. Its not that much money and its not that much time. None of know how many years we have left, but we know how many we've been given till now. If you have to draw a line and add them uop, eternally speaking, what would you have to show for your life? Job said, 'my days fly faster than a weaver's shuttle...k(Job 7:6NTL). Bryan Wilkerson said in his book: 'Teen count the number of friends they have, the numbers of colleges they get into. College students count grade points...credit hours...how many beers they can drink. Adults measure success by the number of bedrooms in their house, cars in their garage...or the yield on their investments. Most make two mistakes...they think they have so much time they can afford to waste it, or so little. Time they can't possibly so something significant, so they don't try. Our days are like suitcases all the same size but some can pack more into them than others. 'A person who chases fantasies has no sense, (Proverbs 12:11NLT). Numbering your days means offering them to God and seeking His direction for your life.

David fled Jerusalem, driven from his throne by his son Absalom, who had gathered an army of supporters. As he escaped he instructed Zadok, his priest, take the ark of God back to Jerusalem and to lead his people in worship there "if I find favour in the eyes of the Lord," he mused, "He will bring me back to and show me both it and His dwelling place"". But if not, "Here am I, let Him do to me as seems good to Him(2Samuel 15:25-26).
Perhaps, like David, you've lost the power of self determination. Someone has seized control of your life, business, career, marriage or your emotions, or so it seems.
You may fear that circumstances and human caprices have overturned your plans. But nothing can frustrate God's loving intention. A christian theologian named Tertullian (150-220 AD) wrote, "Do not regret a thing which has been taken away.....by the Lord God, without whose will neither does a leaf glide down from a tree, nor a sparrow of a farthings worth fall to the earth."
Our heavenly father knows how to care for His children and will allow only what deems best. We can rest in His infinite wisdom and goodness.
So if you feel helpless in life's fray, God's mighty power will be your stay; He will renew your failing strength. He is a God who cares for His own. Let's leave our cares with Him today because He cares for us.

We live in an information age. You can click on the Internet for just about anything that you want to research, and with the click of a finger find countless facts and opinions on any subject.

While this and other resources can be helpful, we have to be careful that we are not letting all the information out there interfere with our reliance on God. Even as dedicated Christians, our human nature side sometimes wants a human resource. In other words, we want to hear what another person has to say. For example, sometimes we want to hear what public opinion is on health issues rather than trust God’s healing promises. We want to look at all the factual ways to fix our family lives, but we sometimes ignore that it’s prayer and Bible time as family that keeps us united. Again, while not all information out there is bad, we need to make what God has to say our first priority. We need to determine that His promises outweigh even what good advice and natural solutions have to offer. When it comes right down to it, there is nothing out there that can match up to the God who put the stars in the sky and formed the universe. If He can do all those things, what He can do for you is unlimited. There is no comparison! There is nothing that can take the place of God in your life.

TOPIC: GOD'S UNFAILING WORD

TEXT: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

God is constantly speaking and it’s always target specific and when He speaks, it’s the final authority on any matter. We have to take hold of that like we really mean it because circumstances will constantly try to be in opposition to God’s Word.

Sickness will try to arise when God’s Word promises healing. Poverty and lack will try to settle in when God promises abundance. Rejection and fear will try to overtake God’s promises of acceptance and faith. Often, negative circumstance will try to speak to your mind and can be unrelenting! Therefore, we need to keep God’s Word fresh in our hearts. Instead of just quoting a Scripture you have memorized, open your Bible and get that word deep into your heart afresh. Read it to yourself and read it aloud. Say it over and over and “chew on it” in your mind. Think about what it means to you and thank God that it’s true. If you keep staying with it, eventually that Word will drop into your heart in the form of faith and it will overtake your circumstances. God’s word has been sent to prosper you and bring you into success in any field of endeavor. His Word will never fail and will accomplish what He sent it to do!
