TOPIC: YOUR STRENGTH RENEWED AND RESTORED

TEXT: He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength (Isaiah 40:29).

Stress and fatigue can be a big part of our lives. Physical and spiritual burn outs are common place among many believers today. It’s important we know how to deal with it.

If multitudes of people didn’t deal with fatigue and reoccurring tiredness, the beverage market wouldn’t be filled with caffeine and sugar-laced drinks to give us that age-old, much-appreciated “kick.”

Most people probably have experienced the afternoon slump, so we call it, while others deal with a more serious version of fatigue. If you are dealing with ongoing fatigue, it is important to make sure first that you are doing the right things necessary for a healthy lifestyle. However, many people even with the best habits experience some occasions of feeling un-explainable bouts of tiredness. The funny thing is we have more modern conveniences than ever in order to make life easier, but in reality it seems like its just created more to do! At the fast pace most people run at, we need the Spirit of the Lord to constantly renew and restore our energy.

There is a provision from God for turning fatigue into energy. Isaiah 40:29 says He gives power to the faint. This means that on those days when you feel exhausted, the Lord will give you the physical and emotional stamina to do things you didn’t think you could have otherwise. He will take what little energy you do have and cause it to multiply.  Sometimes, because we don’t feel energized, we talk about tiredness too often. As you go into this new week start talking about God strengthening you today and turning your fatigue into brand-new energy!

God’s word is an energy booster. Speak it daily and watch divine surge within you

TOPIC:    4 WAYS TO COPING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

TEXT:  “A friend loveth at all times… (Proverbs 17:17kjv)

We all encounter those people who are either difficult to live with or work with. They may be negative Thomas or know it Peter, either way they can create a very frustrating work environment or hostile livelihood to us if you let them. Here are some ways you can meet the challenge head on:

1) Don’t join them: Don’t allow yourself get caught up in the negative ‘Do me I do you’ trap of negative behavior. Even if your colleague gets away with been difficult, know that there are people watching them, but more importantly people are watching your reaction to them. Be willing to exhibit grace under fire and stay above the fray.

2) Silence is not always golden: You might say listening without saying anything is the path of least resistance. Part of meeting the challenges difficult people represent is finding your voice and challenging their false assumptions, interpretations and believes. Your failure to do so may be interpreted as agreement by both the difficult person and the people around you.

3) Focus on the behavior and not on the person: When giving feedbacks or addressing the issues, emphasize the person’s action instead of the person. Providing feedbacks focus on three things: The situation, the behavior the person exhibit and the impact of their behavior on you or the situation.

4) Challenge absolute statements: difficult people live in a world of black and white without the skill to navigate the many shades of grey that workplace and family creates. They use such absolutes like ‘always and never’. For instance they might say ‘Mary is always late’. But it’s always good to challenge the fact the person in question was late that day but was early other days.

Above all with the love of God flowing through us we can look at such difficult people as one in whom God is still perfecting His work. This perspective will make pray for them and help in nurturing them to maturity in God.

Endeavour to see everyone you meet as a project in the hand of God and relate with them as such.

After four hundred and thirty years of captivity in Egypt, The nation of Israel was delivered by the power of God. On their journey they came to the red sea and felt trapped between the sea and the Egyptian army who were hot on their heels. In the dilemma of feeling stuck God told Moses to tell the people to ‘go forward’. Regardless of what you might be passing through, God wants you to go forward but going forward require that we break free of those things that hindering us from moving in the direction that God is leading. In this part I would like to share five of ten things you must break free from if you must move forward in life:

TOPIC:  MOVING FORWARD IN LIFE (Part 2)

 TEXT: “…Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward” (Exodus 14:15kjv)

Going forward is a choice that must be made by no one else but you. God has ordained a glorious destiny for us but we must make conscious choice and effort to embrace that that destiny. The choice to be all that God wants you to be is also a choice never to remain whom you have always being. It was a difficult choice for the Israel, though they left Egypt but they couldn’t break away from their past so as to embrace their future. In the second part of this series I will show you the last five things you must break away from so as to fulfill our God given destiny:

1) Break away from negative perception about life: The way we see life many times hinders our destiny journey. Such perceptions like thinking that life is meant to be fair. Some accepts life challenges as fate of destiny. Negative mentality is the chief reason for destiny paralysis.

2) Break free from assumptions and self-doubts: Assumption is the mother of frustration. To assume something will never work before trying is a one way ticket to nowhere land. The children of Israel were already talking about dying at the red sea when God’s Promised Land was waiting for them (Exo.14:12).

3) Break free from blaming others for where you are: the Israelites couldn’t stop blaming Moses for bringing them to that point. That should sounds very familiar to pastors who get blamed for that that is happening and not happening in life of their member. To move forward you must take your eyes off who has done what to you unto God and where He is taking you.

4) Break free from operating on other people’s timeline: What God has done for others He can and will do for you but in His own time, and regardless of how old you think you are; for instance, Barack Obama finished his career as the president of the U.S.A when he turned 55 years while Donald Trump stepped into that same office when he turned 70 years old. Don’t look at others to determine your life journey. God can still do something great with you.

5) Break free from making excuses: Many people have excused from destiny fulfillment because they make too many excuses. They always have a reason why something can’t be done. Like the lazy man who refuses to go to his field because he is always seeing lions outside (see Pro.22:13). The day stop making excuses is the day we begin to live the life that God has truly called us to live.

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY

Bishop David once said “we all hear the same thing but we don’t do the same thing”. Please let engage in the practice of the above so our profiting may appear unto all

TOPIC: TAKE ACTION NOW

TEXT:  “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it”(Eccl.9:10)

Until you make moves you don’t create waves. You can only pray, plan, and prepare for so long, then you must step out in faith and act. There is a Chinese proverbs that says “ He who deliberates too long before taking a step, will spend his whole life standing on one leg” the reason we never get started is because we focus on tomorrow instead of today. The time we have control over is the present. Apostle James writes “Look here you people who say tomorrow we are going to certain town, we will do business there and make profit, how do you know what will happen tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog it’s here a little while and then it’s gone (James4:13, 14). Edgan Guest in his book wrote “The greatest of worker this man would have been tomorrow. The world would have known him has he ever seen tomorrow. But the fact is he died and faded from view, and all that he left here when his living was over was a mountain of things he intended to do tomorrow. The idea of tomorrow can be very seductive but the promise it hold is often false. It’s starting that stops us. A wise man once said “The greatest time wasted is the time getting started”. The hardest part of writing a letter is penning the first line. The hardest part of making a tough phone call is picking up the hand set and dialing the number. So how do you overcome this difficulty? Schedule a specific time for doing something you don’t like to do or fear to do. And each time you follow through and do it, it will get better and easier.

Today is the beginning of a new of a new month. You can make a brand new start so you can have brand new end. So what are you waiting for? Time to get cracking!

*Make a To Do list. Write it in order of priority and start working on it. Never leave anything partly done. The key is to follow through.
