TOPIC :  RAISE AN ALTAR FOR GOD

TEXT: "Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my

exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God" (Psalms 43:4).

The word altar comes from a word in the Hebrew that literally means slaughter or sacrifice. In the

Old Testament, people built altars and would

slaughter their most valuable livestock upon

them as a sacrifice to God.  And when these sacrifices are made God shows up in glory. Today and in the

New Testament, our altars are our places of prayer where we lay our lives down before the Lord and “slaughter” or hand our will over to the

Lord. What is powerful about our own personal altar experiences is that when we give the things we hold as “valuable,” God uses that sacrificial

experience from our hearts to pull out of our lives the things we desperately want to see removed. He takes away the sin habits, the curses, and the things that weigh us down. As you pray before the Lord, take a moment to

create an altar. Perhaps it’s just kneeling down

in front of a chair or sofa and letting the Lord know that you have come to give Him every part of you. The key is make it something that is

meaningful for you. It’s a refreshing experience that everyone needs, so take some time and

create an altar today.

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY 

Today give God lay your life bare before Him on the alter and ask for grace to make new sacrifices and stick to your spiritual commitments

TOPIC: KEYS TO SOLVING LIFE'S CHALLENGES (2)

TEXT: When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God , your personal God,...(Isaiah 43:2 MSG)

Our brains have been empowered to seek creative way to solve life's difficult problems if we engage it. A wise man once said "God has given you brain so you can give Him rest". In dealing with everyday life situations, we  need to careful not to allow the emotional aspect of our live to hijack the process. When our emotional brain is in charge we think in term of white and black and we lose the ability to think in shades of grey and look at other possible ways to deal with a particular situation. We looked at some of these ways in the first part ( kindly refer to yesterday's devotional),  today we will take a look at the second part: 

5) Pray and seek God's guidance. Now you have a plethora of possible solutions you have come up with, you will need to seek God in prayer to know which is the best line of action. When you acknowledge God He will direct your steps 

6) Pick the best solution for the moment. Solutions are transient in nature. What was a right solution some years ago might not fit today. Even Jesus Christ doesn't apply the same solution to the same problem all the time. Some time He laid hands on the eyes of the blind at others He applied mud to their eyes.

7) Make a decision and take faith based action. Decision and action are the wheels that drive execution. Once decision is reached take action immediately.

8) Follow through. In order to avoid a relapse, some situations require that we keep at till we overcome it. You need to keep doing the same thing till you have the result we desire. Never give up and never give in keep pushing

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY 

Keep practicing the basic principles above till you come through with the desired solution. 

WORD CONFESSION FOR TODAY 

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. I am over and above circumstances and situations. The victory of Christ's cross is my portion in Jesus name!

TOPIC:KEYS TO SOLVING LIFE'S CHALLENGES (1)

TEXT : When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God , your personal God,...(Isaiah 43:2 MSG)

You only need to live up to be fifty years old to know in life, you will face rivers of challenges- physucal, financial, famiky, busines, workplace and pokitical. It has b said that if you are living a normal life you will face some challenges every threw monts. The good news is whatever challenges you are facing or have to face is jot meant to destroy you but to demos tray the strength of your character. But in most cases when something goes wrong the natural tendency is to get angry or blame others. If you must find solution you must remain calm and objective. Focus on finding solutions by applying the principles   below:

1) Define the problem clearly. In medicine it's said that " accurate diagnosis is half the cure". Clarity will always fastract getting the solution to the priblem.

2) Separate 'fact of life' from what you think is the problem. For example when economic downturn affecting your business. This is not a problem but a fact of life that you keep to work around and deal with.

3)Seek to understand the causes of the problem. You are lookin doors that have left open that need to be shut.

4) Think up and write down  possible solutions . The more possible solutions you are able to come up with the more like you get the right one.

Whatever the challenge, God has made you up to the task. And He is with you all the way. Rejoice!

Take action on the above points to work out whatever challenge you might be facing today

I am evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that Jesus has overcome the world for me, The Holy Spirit is with me I shall not be moved. Amen!

TOPIC: NO MORE EXCUSES 

TEXT: "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"(Romans 10:13).

Many people have different reasons why they are rejecting the gospel and why things are not happening in their lives. They blame everyone else but themselves.  The common one is to blame the church, a christian brother, ones spouse etc. These critic say 'I know a christian who treated me poorly,'  or my spouse's behaviour is not encouraging me' etc. Indeed the Church isn't perfect neither are the Christians attending it and your spouse can be a bad example. But blaming others doesn't remove one's accountability to God.

The fulfilment of God's promises in your life doesn't depend on how others live thier lives or what they do or fail to do. Salvation (deliverance) is about Jesus alone. The book Romans say "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you salvation shall be saved"(Romans 10:9).

Some people use the action of others as an excuse to reject the gospel and give up on their destiny. But they certainly can't point a finger of blame at Jesus. He is sinless and perfect in every way. Pilate said of Him "I have found no fault in this man"(Luke 23:14). And Jesus did what no one else will do for you---He suffered death on the cross to provide salvation for those who will believe in Him. Anyone that can give his life for you cannot be responsible for your woes too. Jesus gave you your life back when He gave His life on the cross.

Dont get side tracked by looking at the fault of others, look at Jesus. He alone is the WAY...and He will make a way for you today.

Be on the look out. Jesus is making a way for you today 

WORD CONFESSION FOR TODAY 

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work today I declare that. The grace for salvation is at work in my life. I am of God and I have overcome the enemy, greater is he that is me than he that is in the world. Amen! 

PRAYER POINTS 

*Father God, thank you for this great and wonderful day in Jesus name

*Father God, thank you for giving me Jesus as my saviour. Thanks for being my way maker

TOPIC: USE WORDS THE RIGHT WAY

TEXT: "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger" (Proverbs 15:1).

Words can be the building blocks of relationships or the hammer that pull it down. Some people are naturally calm and hardly get worked up about much of anything. Others, who probably comprise a larger portion of the

population, find it easier to speak their mind in whatever tone of voice they find necessary in the

heat of the moment. Of course, if you’re a

speak-your-mind kind of person, it is likely that people aren’t going to mistake your point. However, just because people know where you stand on an issue doesn’t mean they are jumping

on board with you. In fact, depending on how you communicated your point, your listeners may

withdraw from you simply based on how you spoke to them. While there is a time and place for words to be bold and direct, most of the time

soft words that come with an approving tone

cause your hearers to be far more open to your ideas and opinions. Most of the time the propblem is not what said but the way we said it.Think of those you deal with every day and even

those you meet throughout your business day.

Look for ways to uplift them, even when you need to say some things that may not always be

what they want to hear. Everyone needs to be affirmed and wants to hear a soft word, especially when they are having to face some hard facts. Let this be a day to say things the right way

Before responding to a situation always try to calm yourself down and think clearly.

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, I am fruitful in all good works in Jesus name.

TOPIC: THE POWER OF GOD'S MERCY

TEXT: "It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy

faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We often read about when people came to Jesus for healing or deliverance, and Jesus

commended them for their faith. He often used phrases such as, “your faith has made you whole” or “according to your faith be it unto you.” I have often thought Jesus was

encouraging them to have faith in His healing power. Of course, undoubtedly that’s true. However, as of recent years my personal revelation of faith has extended more to a simple faith in His mercy. If you have faith that He is merciful then you can believe He will heal you. Why do you think blind Bartimaeus cried out,

“thou son of David, have mercy” (Mark

10:46-52)? He was believing for healing based on the sheer mercy of the Lord. If you believe in His mercy, you don’t doubt He will heal, forgive, or provide for you. Truly, we simply need confident faith in His unfailing

mercy. We can never do enough good deeds to earn it. We are entirely dependent on His mercy for everything. The most powerful part is that His mercy renews itself each morning like new cells that are continually formed in a living organism. Don’t fear or condemn yourself today, because His unfailing mercy is being extended to

you right now!

Take cover under the mercy of The Lord today

I am the an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that I and my family  are  shielded and defended from every evil. No evil shall befall us and no plague shall come near out dwelling place in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS 

*Father God, thank you for your faithfulness and mercy over my life and destiny in Jesus name.

*Father God, I thank You for Your unfailing mercy that is

being extended to me. I receive it in Jesus name

*Father God, by your mercy command deliverance for me and every member of my family this month in Jesus name.

*Father God, by your mercy, let the arrow of the wicked prepared for me or any member of my family backfire in Jesus name 

*Father God, by your mercy let my mouth be enlarged over my enemies this month in Jesus name

TOPIC: MOVE TO YOUR 'EPHRAIM' SEASON

TEXT:  "And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: for God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction" (Genesis 41:51-52).

God's wisdom n bringing us into a new day, a new month, and a new year is so that He could bring closure to certain things in our past and give us an opportunity to start over. 

No matter what hardships you have been through, God always has a plan to move you forward to a new chapter.

Whether your hardships are from your distant past or they just occurred yesterday, God is always beckoning you to put that season of toil behind you. Notice in the verses above when Joseph called his firstborn Manasseh, it was because God had made him forget all his hardship and all his father’s house. Why all his father’s house? That is because to him, the years he spent growing up held a lot of bad memories and hurts. Maybe your upbringing or some events this year often brings such memories. Well, it’s time to move from that place and open a new chapter. You can’t move into your next season keeping your eyes on the Manasseh experience of your life. It is your Ephraim chapter, which in the Hebrew means double fruitfulness! (See Genesis 41:52.) Even negative experiences from this week will lose their ability to keep you down when you choose to forget your struggles. It’s time to forget the pain of yesterday and dwell instead on the blessings of tomorrow and wonderful fruit God is producing in your life. So welcome to a new and a glorious chapter of your life!

Put your past mistakes and hurt behind you and look forward to the new things the LORD is about to bring to pass in your life

*Father God, Thank you for opening a new chapter of glory  for my life and destiny in Jesus name

*Father God, let every yoke of hardship on my life and family be broken by fire in Jesus name

*Father God, let your power move me into a new season of supernatural fruitfulness in Jesus name

*Father God, let the yoke of stagnation on my life be destroyed by fire in Jesus name
