TOPIC: OVERCOMING THE WORKS OF THE FLESH

TEXT:  "Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lust" (Romans 13:14)

The appetite of the world and the flesh are powerful and addictive tool of the devil. he appeals to our love for what satisfies our selfish and sinful desires and uses it to tempt, control, discourage, defeat and destroy us. We crave power or money or food or alcohol or clothes or sex, even though we are in danger of sacrificing our friends, our loved ones, our careers and even our relationship with our Saviour to satisfy our desires.

How can we resist the temptation of satan? Paul the apostle said, "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh(Galatian 5:16). He also wrote, "Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfil its lust (Romans 13:14). And John said, "Do not love the world or the things in the world"(1John 2:15).

What's the secret to overcoming this fleshy battles ? (a) Don't love the world and what is in it above the Lord and the things of the Kingdom of God (b) Put on the Lord Jesus Christ by being conscious of His presence in your life always. (c) Walk in the Spirit; allow the Holy Spirit to lead and direct the affairs of your life. (d) Dont make provision for the flesh. Deny your flesh every opportunity to indulge in sin.

God has provided the armour for us to withstand temptation, but we must make the vital choice and  put it on. 

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY 

Make a daily conscious, determined decision to live above whatever you are struggling with. Start today.

WORD CONFESSION FOR TODAY 

PRAYER POINTS 

*Father God, thank you for this great and glorious day that you have brought me and my family to see in Jesus name. 

*Father God, thank you for the grace to overcome every works of  the flesh in my life in Jesus name. 

*Father God, fortify my will to stand against the tricks of the enemy to indulge my flesh in Jesus name

* Father God, today  I yield and bring all the member of my body in subjection to your Spirit today in Jesus name 

*Father God, today  I receive divine enablement to live above every wiles of the enemy in Jesus name 

*Father God,by your Spirit, lead me away from every temptations into a life of daily victory in Jesus name

*Father God, let every dream used by the enemy to manipulate and keep me in sin be terminated now in Jesus name. 

*Thank you heavenly Father for giving me victory over sin today in Jesus name.
