Topic: Protecting Your Harvest and Rewards

Text: "Watch out that you do not lose what we have
worked for, but that you may
be rewarded fully" (2 John 1:8 NIV).

The Book of Second John was a letter written to
a lady who was a dear friend of the apostle. In
the few short verses, he mentions his love for
her in the Lord and encourages her to keep that
love and hold fast to the word she learned early
on. It seems from the letter that she may
have been veering off track slightly and needed
some admonition from John. In verse 8, he
encourages her to watch carefully so that she
doesn’t let go of everything they had worked for.
It seems she was making some decisions that
were putting the ministry work they had
accomplished together at risk and John wanted
her to reassess her direction.
We all need to make occasional adjustments that
will keep us from veering off course. Otherwise,
we risk losing some things we have worked hard
for. That could apply to our personal spiritual
walk, ministry, occupation, certain relationships,
family matters, finances, and
more. We can make these adjustments with the
help of the Holy Spirit and quality people in our
lives who are willing to tell us the truth, like
John did for his friend. Then the things you have
worked hard for will be protected and you will
enjoy the reward.

PRAYER
Lord, show me the areas where I need to make
adjustments. I commit to making them as You
reveal it. I thank You that my hard work will
prosper and I will enjoy the reward from it. Amen.
