TOPIC: PRAYING TO GET ANSWERS (Part 1)

TEXT: “He shall call upon Me and I will answer… (Psalm 91:15)

God takes delight in answering our prayers. When we call He promised to answer. E.M Bound said ‘God does nothing except in answer to prayers’.

 I read the story of a night club that opened in a serene part of town, and then a Church which was only about a hundred yards away organized a 24 hour prayer vigil. They asked God to burn the club down. Within two weeks lightning struck and the club was burnt to the ground. The owner sued the Church, which denied responsibility. After hearing the argument from both sides, the Judge said ‘it seems that wherever the guilt lies, the night club owner believes in prayer while the Church doesn’t’.

The first step in getting answers in prayers is prayerfulness. It’s that simple! When we pray we give God something to do and what He does is what we call answer to prayers. Saying we believe in prayer is not the same thing as praying. James writes ‘ we have not because we ask not’(Jam4:3) we must take time to ask God for what we want and need. Sometimes we process situations in our minds or we discussed them with our friends, we wish or hope but we don’t pray. Thinking, hoping, talking about an issue with others is not prayer. Only praying is prayer! When we have a need or a situation that concerns us, we are only praying when we talk to God about it. God is waiting for us to make request of Him in prayer. He never gets tired of us coming to in prayer. He is able, willing and ready to act on our behalf, but only if we pray. Jesus said ‘ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock  and it will be opened to you, for everyone that ask receives, and he who seeks find and to him who knock it will be opened.(Mark 7:7-8) So start asking and start receiving answers today!

*Take time to assess your prayer life. And take deliberate steps to set your priorities right by allocating quality time for prayers

WORD CONFESSION

I am evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and is at work. Today I declare that the Spirit of grace and supplication is upon my life. I receive fresh fire on the altar of my prayer life in Jesus name

*Father of grace thank you for your grace and mercy that has brought me and mine family into this new week in Jesus name

*Father God let the Spirit of grace and supplication rest on me now in Jesus name

*Father God, re-ignite and revive my prayer life in Jesus name

*Father God, give me a new hunger and thirst for your presence in Jesus name

*Father God, snatch me from the distraction that is contesting with my prayer life in Jesus name

Father God, deliver me from spiritual laziness that is killing my prayer life in Jesus name

*Father God, endue me with grace to wait upon you in prayer and fasting in Jesus name.

*Thank you Lord for fresh fire of revival on my prayer alter in Jesus name
