God gives everyone a dream for their future. Some are short-term and others are lifelong dreams. Many times the process to realizing those dreams is challenging and takes far longer than anticipated. Perhaps you have become weary in pursuing your dreams. A good biblical example of someone who was weary but kept pursuing was Gideon and his 300-man army. The Bible says his men were “faint, yet pursuing”

(Judg. 8:4).

Selena Gomez Tearfully Shares her Testimony: 'I'm a Child of God'

Actress and popstar Selena Gomez opened up about her lifelong journey with God at this year's Hillsong Conference in Los Angeles. 

The 25-year-old singer shared her testimony in the form of a letter, which details her life from a child until now. 

"You already have faith but you have no idea what you have faith in," Gomez said of her 15-year-old self. "You are already being pursued by God who knit you together and called you His, but you still don't know that this can be more than a nightly prayer, you don't know that this will become the most important relationship, but just wait."

Gomez admitted life in Hollywood was confusing and painful, until she realized how much God loves her. 

"You will learn that your truest identity is loved and chosen, as the chosen daughter of God," she continued.

"Eight years later, you will be sitting in a service and everything within you will shift. The God that has been pursuing you all along will feel tangible. The Holy Spirit will speak louder than anything that has called for your attention."

Gomez said her faith and her fame grew until finally, she had a real encounter with Jesus just two years ago. 

"On your 23rd birthday, Jesus will become real to you," the Texas native testified. "More than a nightly prayer, more than the strength of your friends, more than the name in a devotional, He will become real."

Gomez's testimony ends with a bold declaration of her faith in Christ 

"Selena, you are enough! Not because you've tried hard, not because you have loved hard or put on your best face, not because you have been given a large platform and not because others tell you 'you are enough,'" she declared. "You are enough because you are a child of God who has been pursued from the very beginning. You are enough because His grace has saved you and covered you."

Church of Sweden Opts for Gender Neutral Terms, Drops ‘He’ When Referring to God




The Church of Sweden is making a few changes when it comes to how clergy refer to God the Father.

According to the Telegraph, the church’s 251 member board voted to switch out terms  like “Lord” and “He” and incorporate the more gender neutral term “God.”

According the board, those changes will go into effect in May of 2018.


Clergy can still use the phrase “In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit” but are also permitted to use “In the name of God and the Holy Trinity.”

"Theologically, for instance, we know that God is beyond our gender determinations, God is not human,” defended church head Archbishop Antje Jackelen.

The Church of Sweden makes up more than 60 percent of the country’s population boasting 6.1 million members.

The Church of England recently came under fire for its stance on gender identity.

The church was criticized for encouraging young people to “explore the possibilities of who they might be.”

TOPIC: LEARN TO APPRECIATE YOUR FAMILY

TEXT: “Joseph went to Bethlehem because he was of the house of David” (Luke 2:4AMP)

There are many things we didn’t chose in life, one of which is the family we were born in. Families are no accidents, God had your birth all planned out. let’s face it, there are times that some of us wish we were born into a different family, but God said ‘before you were formed in your mother’s belly I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart for a special purpose (Jeremiah 1:5).
We tend to think of Jesus’ family only in terms of His heavenly father. But He had a human family too; one that didn’t always understand Him. God used His family to mold Him and move Him toward His destiny. So “Joseph went up…to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belongs to the house and line of David, while they were there, the time came for the baby to be born” (Luke 2:4). Please notice the words ‘the time came’. There is no confusion or coincidence in God’s calendar. He planned our lives right down to the minutest detail. He says “What I have planned will I do” (Isaiah 46:11).

Jesus likely became a carpenter because that was Joseph’s trade and because of His obligation as the oldest son, He probably waited till He was thirty year old before stepping out into public ministry. What do all these mean to me? You may ask. Simply put: God will use your family to prepare you for the assignment He has given you in life. He put you there to shape you and make you more like Him hopefully, through godly role models and loving relationships. Even when you are born into a dysfunctional and an emotionally distant family, He can still turn a curse into a blessing, because He loves you.So appreciate your family.

TOPIC: RESTORATION THROUGH THANKSGIVING

TEXT: “I will sacrifice with the voice of thanksgiving”(Jonah 2:9)

A thankful heart should be a way of life, because it has the power to change and restore your life. When Jonah ended up inside the whale, he told God, “I will sacrifice with the voice of thanksgiving”. When he did God made the fish to spit him up on dry ground. When you are down in the pit and all hell is breaking loose around you that’s when you need to raise your voice and praise God. Nothing demonstrates trust like when you are in throes of crisis.  A thankful heart does two principal things:

(1)   It builds your faith: The reason we can walk by faith and not by sight (1Cor.5:7) is because we know that regardless of the circumstances God is working on our behalf. Davis said “Magnify the LORD with me” (Psalm34:3). Praising God acts like a magnifying glass; nit makes God bigger than your problems. It changes your focus from your problems to God. Instead of dwelling on problems and getting discouraged, your faith is released and you begin to look to God for solutions. And a believing heart will recognize and receive those solutions faster than doubting ones.

(2)  It restores your life: Before raising Lazarus from the dead Jesus looked up from heaven and said ‘Father, thank you that you heard me’ (John 11:41). Something amazing happens when you start thanking God in advance for saving, protecting and providing for you. Your faith begins to soar and you gain confidence to command those things that were dead in your life back to life again. Though we have few weeks to end this year and you might have lots of things yet to be accomplished, start to thank God in advance God can bring restorations into your life.

TOPIC:  NEW DEVOTION FOR NEW REVELATIONS

TEXT: “when they were alone He explained all things to His disciples” (Mark4:34)

A recent survey confirms what most of us suspects; stress increases as work encroaches more and more on our personal time. The electronic age hasn’t slowed the onslaught of mails, books and periodicals. 

We must read just to keep up. A PR consultant who fields four hundred emails, one hundred phone calls and twenty text messages every day says ‘I used to stop working when it got too late to make calls, but now I am never finished. Now she lives in a country behind the mountain because no phone signals there, and if they ever erect a mobile transmitter mast she says she will move!

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of city life, its critical to schedule one on one time with God, otherwise the supernatural things won’t happen. Mark says ‘when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples. There are things the Lord will reveal to you alone when you meditate with all your heart…and be still (Psalm4:4). It is said the ancient fathers used to commit themselves to disciplinary creed, silence, solitude and inner peace. Only after adequate amount of time they consider it fit to speak. Among many Christians today there are strange logic suggesting the spiritual resources are found in seeking new voices, attending more meetings, listening to incessant music, and gathering to exchange half thought out opinions. How often do we fall into the trap of believing that God is most pleased when we’ve maximized our information, our schedules, and our relationships? Disengagement means silence before God…a time of heavenly discussion during which we listen more than we speak. And silence demand solitude. The bottom line is, you need one on one time with the Lord.

TOPIC: RIVER OF LIVING WATER

TEXT: “OUT OF THE HEART WILL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER” (JOHN 7:38)

Water is a symbol of life. Recently it was reported by NASA that water has been discovered on Mars and that it’s an indication of the presence of life there.

Water quenches our thirst and sustains our life. In scripture, water serves the picture of the sufficiency of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ day, during the feast of Tabernacles a choir sings while a priest filled a gold pitcher with water and poured it out. This reminds all those present of the water that gushed out during the wilderness wanderings (Numbers 20:8-11).

Jesus stood and said in a loud voice: “He who believes me as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water (John 7:37,38). This source is the Holy Spirit who is like a well of satisfaction. Earlier the Lord had made a dramatic claim that the believer would have a continual source of refreshment (V4:14)

Are you thirsty today, confess your sins and Christ will fill you with His Spirit. As you yield to His will He will graciously fill you with the living water springing up to eternal life.

Get spiritual thirsty and God will fill you.

SPIRITUAL AWAKENING SERIES

TOPIC: THE SOON COMING KING

TEXT: “A little while longer and the world will see me no more, but you wil see me, because I live, you will live also.”(John 14:19)

We admire anyone who makes a comeback after failure and defeat. Sometimes ago, an entertainment magazine featured an article on ‘The greatest comeback of all times’. Surprisingly they selected the resurrection of Jesus as number one. It was stated this way ‘Jesus Christ 33 AD defies critics and stuns the Romans with His resurrection’. How discerning! In any list of the greatest comebacks, Jesus’ victory over the grave merits the first place. Indeed, His resurrection is in a class that soars above any other comebacks.

In the natural, death ultimately triumphs over life. When a person dies, there is no possibility of renewed existence, at least not in this world. But that wasn’t so with Jesus. He has promised His disciples that after been crucified by His enemies, He will come back to life triumphing over the grave. Matthew records his in the gospel; “Jesus began to show His disciples that He will go to Jerusalem and suffer many things…and be killed and be raised the third day’’. (Matthew16:21). That is what happened to our Savior. And He promised also that one day He shall return to take us to Himself so that where He is we can be also (John14:3).

Jesus Christ’s come back assures us that we too by faith in Him will come back when we are resurrected from the grave to meet Him at His return. The empty grave is the foundation for our faith that someday Jesus will return to take us to Himself. So get ready. The King is coming!

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY

Plan as if Jesus won’t come till the next 1000 years but live as though he will come in the second.

WORD CONFESSION

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that I believe Jesus rose again from the dead for my justification and victory. At His return I will be ready for the flight. Because He lives I will also. Amen

PRAYER POINTS

*Father God, purge of every weight of sin that will want to make me miss rapture in Jesus name

In China's Jiangxi province, government officials are now demanding that villagers remove Christians posters and replace them with images of President Xi.

Villagers "should no longer rely on Jesus, but the party for help," said Qi Yan, chairman of the people's congress of Yugan county's Huangjinbu township.

One third of the township population is Christian, yet The Washington Post reports 624 posters--most showing Christian sayings and depicting Christian images, have been removed and replaced with 453 images of President Xi.

One photo appearing on social media showed workers hanging a picture of Xi on a wall. An accompanying tweet said, "Help turn those who believe in religions into believing in the Party."

Government officials are encouraging the action in response to recent remarks by Xi, who is also Communist Party General Secretary. In remarks made at the recent Communist Party Congress, Xi said religion must be guided by the party to adapt to socialist society.

"Many rural people are ignorant. They think God is their savior, said Qi Yan. "Many poor households have plunged into poverty because of illness in the family. Some resorted to believing in Jesus to cure their illnesses. But we tried to tell them that getting ill is a physical thing and that the people who can really help them are the Communist Party and General Secretary Xi."

Communist Party members recently agreed to write Xi's name in their constitution.That action alone elevated him to nearly the same status as Chairman Mao. Also, one local newspaper referred to Xi as "Great Leader," a title that has not been used on a Chinese leader since Mao.

Chinese Christians often hang Christian posters and crosses on the walls and doors of their homes--especially during holiday celebrations. If they refuse to comply with government demands to replace them with images of President Xi, the government may withhold their allotted portions of government poverty relief funds.

Some Christians may eventually risk arrest. However, so far, there are no reports anyone has been arrested for non-compliance.

The Xi poster replacement campaign comes two years after a massive wave of government-forced cross removals from more than 1,500 Chinese churches--mostly in China's Zhejiang province.

Some Chinese Christians now fear the growing cult of personality surrounding their president may lead to greater government persecution of churches and Christians who view Jesus, rather than Xi Jinping, as their "Great Leader."

TOPIC :  THE TRANSFORMED LIFE

Text: "If anyone is in Christ he is a new creature..." (2Cor.5:17)

Once you come into the kingdom, God begin to take you through a process of change, a process of transformation. "We are being  transformed into His likeness (2Cor. 3:18). The moment you turn your life over to Jesus, you are not whom you used to be because:
1) Christ has changed us spiritually. Once we were separated from God and was not able to enjoy fellowship with Him, but now we have been brought into  with Him through the indwelling Spirit, we revel in the things of the Spirit: we now enjoy His word, His way,  and His worship.
2) Christ has changed us morally. The list of wrong doers mentioned in 1Cor6:9-10 was a lifestyle too familiar to us. It includes the immoral, thieves, greedy, drunkard, slander, etc. Then comes that glorious verse 11 that is what some of were, but were washed, sanctified justified in the name of Jesus Christ. He has transformed our character hallelujah!
3)Christ has changed us mentally. "Being transformed by the renewing of our minds(, Rom.12:2). We now look at life, ourselves, others our challenges and potions in the light of God's thought , not ours. We see opportunities where we once saw obstacles and possibilities where we saw problems. Minds that were dressed out are now filled with confidence and peace.
Your message to everyone should be: Jesus changed my life, and if you let Him, He will change yours too! Let your light shine so that people will see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.

I am evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. I declare that I belong to God, the Spirit of grace is upon Mr and within me and  my life is renewed day by day. And I am changed into the glorious image of Christ in Jesus name.

TOPIC:  LIVING THE NEW LIFE

TEXT: “You must be born again…” (John 3:7)

To live the new life, you have got to experience the new birth. And the new birth requires that you are born of the spirit not of the flesh (See John 3:2-6). 

The Bible says 130 years after Adam sinned, he was still fathering children in his own likeness (Gen.5:3). And as Adam’s children we have all been with the nature of the fallen man. This is why people say ‘he is just like his old man’ or we say ‘my dad was an angry man now I have got his temper’. History repeats itself over and over through the fallen nature. Here is an interesting example, Abraham said of his wife Sarah ‘she is not my wife’ so Abimeleck king of Gerah sent and took her (Gen.20:2). Abraham was willing to sacrifice Sarah to safe his own neck. What would you have done? Remember Isaac was not even born when Abraham did this. Years later Isaac did the same thing at the same place (See Gen.26:7). It’s in our DNA it’s genetic. But there is good news! When we receive Jesus Christ into our lives as Lord and Saviour He breaks that circle. When you are born of the Spirit, you get a new father and a new nature (see John 3:2-6). You don’t have to walk in the likeness of your earthly father anymore. You can walk in the likeness of your earthly father and become like him every day. You can live the NEW LIFE made available to you by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. The supernatural life is now yours to live naturally. Victory over sin and satan is now a reality. You can now be one with likeness of God. The only requirement is that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And that He died to take away your sin on the cross of Calvary. Are you fed up with your old nature and ways? Are you ready for new life through the new birth? Turn to Jesus today and pray the prayers below:

WORD CONFESSION

Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner, I believe you are Son of God. I believe in the atoning work on the cross of Calvary. I confess my Sins and I receive forgiveness for them. Come and take full control of my life from today in Jesus name.

TOPIC: AVOID THIS COSTLY MISTAKE

TEXT: “The men of Israel look them over and accepted the evidence but they didn’t ask God about it’ (Joshua 9:14)

One of the names of Jesus is wonderful Counselor. Meaning that Jesus wants to lead you. And if we adhere to his counsel, we can begin to experience his wonderful working power in our lives.

It’s hard to remain humble when you have just seen the red sea open for you to pass through, and seen the wall if Jericho come tumbling down. The tendency is that we become over confident, and overconfidence can be deadly! Flushed with victory the Israelites thought they didn’t need to consult God or listen to what God has to say about their next move. It’s quite a story: The crafty Gibeonites realized they couldn’t win against God’s people so they sent out a team of negotiators to make peace with them. And it worked! Even though they were lying, Joshua presumed they were telling the truth and signed the peace treaty. It was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. From that day the Gibeonites were a constant thorn in Israel’s side. Joshua lived to regret that he didn’t ask God about it. Fanny Cresby the blind song writer, wrote ‘O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer’

It’s frightening how we move from relying on God to relying on our intellect, or trusting a method because it worked in the past or we just do what everybody is doing. Hearing from God yourself is what gives you the edge. Leaving Him out gets you into trouble. If you have the tendency to move too quickly or to operate in your own strength and skill, pray for a red light in your spirit. Ask God to let you know when you are moving in your own will and strength rather than His. It will save untold heart ache and frustration. So avoid this mistake by all means by seeking His opinion as you go into this day   

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY

Learn to listen to His voice daily by staying quiet in His presence after your prayers preferably in the morning hours of the day.

WORD CONFESSION

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that my feet are ordered into God divine plan and will, I the wonderful counselor is going into this day with. I will not miss God’s ordained destiny in Jesus name
