TOPIC: POWER TO FINISH STRONG

TEXT: “…For in due season we shall reap if we faint not” (Gal.6:9)

Fulfilling destiny is like running a long distance race from year to year. And each time you come to the end of the year you finish a lap only to begin another lap in the year following. Been able to finish strong requires a lot of perseverance. Why perseverance? It’s because the end of every race is always the most difficult, that’s when the tendency to faint is very rife. But the Bible says we only reap if we faint not. What is perseverance? It means succeeding because you are determined to not because you are entitled to. Achievers don’t sit and wait for success because they think the world owes then. No! you must adopt a relentless and resilient attitude to win the race of life. Paul the Apostle said I started and I am going to finish. I have worked much harder been jailed more, beaten up more than I can count and at death’s…and that’s not half of it.(1 Cor.11:23-28). One word describes Paul; Relentless!

Another meaning of perseverance is recognizing that life is one long race but divined into many shot ones in succession. Each task has its own challenges and each day has its own events, you have to get out the next morning and run again. It is said Columbus encountered faced many incredible difficulties while sailing West in search for passage to Asia. He encountered storms, experienced hunger, deprivation and extreme discouragement. The crew of his three ships was near mutiny. But his account of journey says the same thing over and over: “Today, we sailed on”. And his perseverance paid off. He didn’t discover the fast route to the spice rich Indies; instead he found new continents. The scriptural key to finishing strong is to persevere through it all.

Perseverance is the backbone of champions. It is also said of Walt Disney’s request for a loan was rejected by 301 banks before he got a ‘yes’ but because he refused to quit he built the world’s famous theme park. Please note that quitters never win. Perseverance can turn years of adversity into advancement. Whatever is happening around you now is serving to prompt the cause of your destiny. So today hoist your sail once more and let God carry you to your ordained place of destiny.

Today like Columbus: SAIL ON!

WORD CONFESSION

I am evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. By the grace of God I am advancing forcefully into the glory that the Lord has ordained for this year. I Will not back down or give up, I will get there in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS

*Father God, thank you for bringing me and my family into this great day in Jesus name

*Father God, let the grace and power to finish this year stronger than I began it rest on me now in Jesus name

*Father God, impart me with new strength for destiny accomplishments in Jesus name

*Father God, help me to keep my eyes on the goal and not to give up in Jesus name

*Father God, send divine help for my situation today in Jesus name

*Thank you LORD for hearing and answering my prayers in Jesus name
