TOPIC:  LET THE LORD HAVE HIS WAY

TEXT: “Mary said; behold the handmaid of the Lord, let it be unto me according to your word” (Luke1:30)

It appears most of our struggles revolves around wanting something we don’t have or having something we don’t want. Our deepest longings and greatest challenges are deeply rooted in trying to see the hand of God in these two facts of life.

This is where Luke’s account of the birth of Jesus begins. The aging Elizabeth longed for a baby. For the young and engaged Mary, pregnancy should have been a thing of disgrace. But when both learnt that they would have a child, they accepted the news with faith in God whose timing is perfect and for whom nothing is impossible. (Luke 1:24-25, 37-38).

As we read the above story, we may be stuck by the real life context of the people whose names have become familiar. Even while Zechariah and Elizabeth suffered their cultural stigma of childlessness, they were described as righteous before God, walking in all the commandment and ordinance of God (V: 30). Their example shows us the trusting hearts that accepts the mysterious ways of God and the presence of His mighty hand, no matter how perplexing our situation might be.

In conclusion, though many times you cannot see the outcome, trust the Lord He knows what’s best. Be assured he sees your struggles and He is with you in your situation.

ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY

Live trustfully today and every day. Knowing that you are in His hands

WORD CONFESSION

I am an evidence that Jesus is alive and at work. I declare today that as I go into this day looking up and trusting the name of the Lord; help and solutions will locate me. My countenance shall not know shame Jesus name.

*Father God, thank you for your faithfulness and mercy over my life and family in Jesus name

*Father God, arise suddenly and crown this year for me and my family with astounding success and goodness in Jesus name

*Father God, where I least expect, raise help for me today in Jesus name

*Father God, let sudden doors of increase open for in the North, South, East and West of the globe in Jesus name

*Father God, visit me today, this week and enrich my life with your blessing and goodness in Jesus name

*Father God, I reject sudden death of any member of my family. We shall all end this with great shouts of praise and rejoicing in Jesus name.

*Father God, thank you for hearing and answering my prayers in Jesus name
