TOPIC:      BECOMING EXCEPTIONAL

TEXT: “Straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize” (Phil.3:13-14)

To be exceptional means to be above average, it means commanding superior results. It also means achieving something of note. And to be exceptional will require that we understand and follow the rubber band principle! All rubber bands work the same way; they must be stretch to be effective! 

Anybody who has achieved anything of note has a story of being stretched to their limits. So, there are no exemptions. One of the most common mistakes is to think that success in life is due to some genius or ‘special something’, talents or gifts you don’t possess. Get rid of that thinking! Success and becoming exceptional in any field of endeavor comes when you stretch to meet the challenge; failure comes when you shrink from it. And stretching sometimes makes you vulnerable. When a rubber band is taut it breaks. This is the reason some of us are afraid to stretch, to go where we haven’t gone or tried what we haven’t tried, or the reason we run from criticism. You will always have critics. Jesus had them and said “No servant is greater than his master, if they persecute me they will persecute you (John 15:20).

The person that invented the polio vaccine was continually attacked by his peers’ for his pioneering works in the field. He found that criticism comes in three stages. First they will tell you ‘it won’t work’! Then when you begin to succeed they will say ‘what you are doing isn’t really important’. Finally after they see that it’s important they will say ‘we all along that you would do it’. So don’t look at the way things are and ask why? But look at the way things could be and ask why not? Through the power of God’s indwelling Spirit you can make a difference and be exceptional in your field. Just make yourself available to God, and let Him show you what He can do through your life

I am an evidence that Jesus Christ is alive and at work. Today I declare that Christ is in me the hope of glory. The anointing for distinction is at work in my life in Jesus name

*Father God, let the your beauty and the light of your glory break forth in the works of my hands in Jesus name

*Father God, as I stretch toward the mark, Lord let me not miss it in Jesus name

*Father God, let the power to lay hold on my set goals come upon my life in Jesus name

*Father God, let any power causing setbacks for me be destroyed in Jesus name

*Father God, let every obstacle that the enemy has laid up to ridicule me be uprooted now in Jesus name

*Father God, let the wisdom for exceptional work in my career rest on me now in Jesus name

*Father God, take away the feeling of frustration and disappointment that want to make me to give up in Jesus name

*Father God, thank you for hearing and answering my prayers in Jesus name
