LIGHT FOR THE WAY

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING
YOUR SEASON TO MAXIMIZE YOUR BLESSING
TEXT: “…That bringeth
forth his fruit in his season…”(Psalm 1:3)
God has ordained certain
blessings for certain season of your life. Failure to understand such season
will lead to inability to maximize the blessing; Esau didn’t understand that it
was the season for the transfer of trans-generational blessing of Abraham so he
lost out (see Gen 27:30-34).
Our lives have been ordained by God to happen in
seasons and seasons have beginnings and endings. So if you don’t understand the
season you are in, you lose your sense of purpose and everything God wants to
do in and through you. Successful farmers keep rotating their crops because
they understand that seasons come and go and go and that certain crops do well
only in certain seasons. Therefore living with a sense of purpose helps you to
transit from one season to another without losing out on the best of God for
your life. This is the reason Paul told Timothy “Be ready in season and out of
season” he was encouraging him to broaden his spiritual horizon and live a life
of purpose. In Timothy’s case he needed to know how to move through the phases
of ministry, because regardless of how strong your anointing is, the season for
its manifestation is not permanent. Timing is everything! You have got to make
the best of it while you can. Reinhard Bonke is coming to have what is said to
be his last crusade in Nigeria to pass on the touch of his ministry to the next
generation. That’s a man that understand seasons!
There is a time to take
root downwards so that you can bear fruit upward. At such a time God is more
interested with the depth of your root than the height of your branches. He is
more interested in quality than quantity. With God the quality goes in before
the name goes out. At such a time God takes what you are struggling with to
develop the kind of soil (Heart) necessary to produce the good fruits. And one
more thing; from time to time God will allow storms to blow away the people and
those things that hinder what He is trying to produce in you. It’s your season
of great blessing!
