There are times and moments in our lives when we come across breathtaking sights in nature that undeniably reaffirm our faith in a higher power. For James Morales, that moment came when he came across a stunning image that he referred to as "the power of God's goodness."
At first it may appear to look like a dying tree, but upon further inspection you can see much more detail come to life.
Located in northern Lebanon, in an area known as the Forest of the Cedars of God, this tree is known as the Jesus Tree. The image was so inspiring for James that he had to share it on Facebook, which quickly began to be shared by thousands of people on the internet.
After further research on the tree's existence, it was discovered that the tree was carved by a poet and sculptor by the name of Rudy Rahmè who wanted to bring the story of Jesus to life. The carving took him five years to complete and was done on a dead cedar tree.
The significance of the Cedars of Lebanon dates back in the bible when David used it in his building place (2 Samuel 5:11) and when Solomon used it to construct a temple and a palace for himself (1 Kings 5:6). It is also mentioned in the following passages:
Isaiah 2:12-13:
"For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is proud and lofty And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased. And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan..."
Psalm 29:5:
"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon."
Along with the Jesus tree, there are other trees located in the Cedars of God that Rudy carved as well.
The cedars are believed to be over 3,000 years old.
The fine details and outlines of the cedar are remarkable to witness and it should be recognized by all for its beautiful depictions
