HOW TO BE THE LEADER PEOPLE WANT TO FOLLOW (2)

It is said that 'if you inspire others (either by words or action) to be better then you are leader. Effective leadership naturally translate to good leadership. So what does it mean to be a good leader? Good leaders a) are consistent; they set examples by 'walking the walk ', so everyone knows that what's heard at the bottom is first practiced at the top (b) they constantly express their appreciation, realising people need to know they're are an important part of them (c) they always listen to suggestions, opinions, fears and ideas without judging or being dismissive. Author Betty Bender said, "its a mistake to surround yourself only with people just like you, get out of your comfort zone and bring around you different and imaginative people, then watch ideas erupt! (d) they dont see people as statistics; Mary Kay ash said 'P&L doesn't just mean 'profit and loss' it means 'people and love'. (e) they explain why things done in certain ways, because it lessens mistakes resentment that can stem from feeling          'ordered around'. Clarence Francis said 'you can buy a man's time, his physical presence at a given time, and even his skill, but you can't buy enthusiasm...loyalty...and devotion. You will need to earn all these.
