BREAKING FREE

Personal downsizing happens when someone moves into a smaller home. Furniture and possessions are sacrificed because there is no longer room for them. This can also occurs when someone moves into a larger house, only this time instead of downsizing you want to get rid of some  unwanted  and unnecessary things that keeps you bound to the past. Downsizing is about pinching, restricting, and cutting back while keeping yesterday's dreams alive, while divesting is about freedom, expansion, and dreaming new dreams. Its easy to try to hold on to old emotional issues, old unprofitable relationships, old habits etc. Instead of continue to nurse our old wounds, and searching for meaning in things, we have been called to a life of freedom in Christ Jesus. There was a young man mentioned in the scriptures who was so bound by his wealth that he didn't have time for God. Jesus told him "one thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor, and follow me' but he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possession"(Mark 10:21-22). Though wealth was good but its was taking the place of what's important--God.
It's hard to imagine Jesus needing a storage unit for His extra stuff. If anything I own keeps me from obeying and walking with God wholeheartedly, am I ready to break free from whatever is holding me back from God so I can freely live for Jesus? Its a decision worth taking.

Prayer Point

Father, I break free from whatever is holding me back from fully leaving for you in Jesus name.
