LIGHT FOR THE WAY
(Daily Devotional)
"Because of what Christ has done we have become gifts...God...delight in" (Ephesians 1:11TLB)
LEARN TO APPRECIATE YOURSELF
God delights in His children, He created us to take pleasure in us. And if so we need to learn to appreciate ourselves because God does. Some of us think little of ourselves because we are holding on to the opinion of people about us, so we think if we are more like what people want us to be, we will be more likeable, the resultant effect, we end up been used.
Some of us think so little of ouselves that we rather be in the wrong relationship than none at all, but being around people doesn't guarantee you won't be lonely; you can be around people all day long and still feel empty and lonely. Until you overcome your fear of being alone and are willing to wait for God to give you the right relationships you'ill will keep feeling lonely. Loneliness is more about liking yourself, than about having people around who likes you.
Instead of wishing you were as beautiful as someone or wishing things were different begin to make them different. Apostle Paul says, 'Because of what Christ has done we have become gifts..God..delights in.' When you start to see yourself the way God sees you, you will start to like and appreciate yourself! A famous actress once said 'Cherish and celebrate what makes you unique, because you are only a yawn when that goes! Does that mean walking around thinking you are better than others? No! It means humbly, confidently accepting yourself because you know that God takes great delight in you(Zephaniah 3:17). So what God we have you do more and more beginning from today is appreciating who you are not what someone say you can be.
Prayer Point
Father, I thank you for creating me for your pleasure and for taking delight in me. I receive greater understanding of what you have made me to be so that my life can be more outstanding in Jesus name.
Daily Bible Reading
